The International Harvester Metro Van is known as a walk-in or multi-stop delivery truck. This vehicle was commonly used for milk or bakery deliveries, an ambulance, a mobile office, and also a radio transmitter van. What made these vehicles special is the fact that the driver is able to choose whether they want to sit or stand while driving.

The Metro Van was produced in the United States between 1938 and 1975. The Metropolitan Body Company built the Metro bodies for the vans. International Harvester eventually purchased this company in 1948. The original design came from Raymond Loewy of Studebaker. The powertrain of the Metro Van was equivalent to light or medium-duty truck.
